Bothy Threads was founded about 25 years ago. Embroidery has been a lifelong hobby of Kate, the founder of the company, and at one point she simply ran out of kits that she would like to embroider. So she began to create them herself! The business took off when she started asking artists whose work she liked if she could use their work as a basis for her design. Since then, the business has grown a lot and Bothy Threads has now partnered with about 20 licensed artists to create about 300 different sets. Bothy Threads feature a slightly unusual design! They often use small beads and pendants to decorate the finished embroidery.
